This visa is applicable for people who seek nomination by one of Canada’s provinces or territories to settle and work there.
Provinces and territories currently participating in this program include Alberta, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Yukon and Northwest Territories.
Through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), these provinces and territories seek to attract immigrants with the specific skills, work experience and knowledge required to meet the labour market needs of their distinct economy.
Your application for this visa will be a two-tiered process:
1) You will complete the provincial nomination process from one of the above-listed provinces. Your application’s success depends on the province’s labour requirements and the circumstances behind your intention to settle there.
2) If you are nominated by a province or territory, you have to file a permanent residence application with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), which will consider your application based on the current Canadian immigration regulations.
